"Work ethic is important because, unlike intelligence, athleticism, charisma, or any other natural attribute, it's a choice." - Mike Rowe, TV Personality and Entreprenuer

Chef Gil, Executive Chef

Austin, Texas native Chef Gilfert Hunt has a true passion for cooking. His love for it began as a young boy preparing family dinners with his grandmother “Big Mama” and Aunt May. The time spent with them taught him the art of southern cooking and unlocked his talents as a chef.

After graduating from Del Valle High School in Austin, his family encouraged him to follow his passion and study culinary arts. After perfecting his craft at Le Cordon Bleu, he worked with the 4-star Westin Hotel before launching Chef Gil and Company in 2012 .

Over the years, he's had the privilege of preparing cuisine for many esteemed guests, including State Representatives, musicians, and Olympic athletes. And in early 2018,  Chef Gil and Company received the Austin Small Business Excellence Award.

Whether youʼre planning a wedding, corporate event, or simply need healthy weekly meals prepared for yourself or family — Chef Gil and his staff are available to help.
